June 15, 2020 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)...After the COVID-19 pandemic put the inaugural season for the RUSH Karting Series on halt, plans are now underway for regional tracks to begin their 2020 season. The RUSH Karting Series will have four different classes; Amateur/Rookie for 5-7 year olds or 8-year-olds with no experience; Jr-1 for kids 8-11; Jr-2 for kids 12-15; and Adult Flat class for those 16 and older. All of the classes will compete for separate Weekly Series Championships that all total more than $8,500. An Adult Cage class will be added for the 2021 season.
Tracks participating in the inaugural season include Blanket Hill Speedway (Kittanning, Pa.), Lockhart Motorsports Park (Seneca, Pa.), Naugle Speedway (Coraopolis, Pa.), Pittsfield Championship Karting Association (Pittsfield, Pa.), Shaffer Speedway (Aliquippa, Pa.) and Stateline Speedway Karts (Busti, NY).
Blanket Hill will feature Cage Karts for the three kid classes, while also hosting Flat Kart racing for the adults. The other tracks will all run Flat Karts for the four divisions. In most cases each class will run separate providing there are typically three or more karts otherwise the RUSH Kart divisions will compete within the tracks' most comparable division; this includes Shaffer Speedway that will permit RUSH engines to compete within the Speedway's own sealed engine program. RUSH members will receive points within their own classification in those instances provided their karts meet all RUSH Karting Series specifications.
The Series features the RUSH Kart sealed engine (212 cc) that's available at Precise Racing Products (Sarver, Pa.). Precise has an ongoing introductory promotion through 2020 that includes $100 off the purchase of a new RUSH Kart sealed engine when you trade in a used Karting engine (https://www.rushkarting.com/Precise-Engine-Trade-In-Promotion-2020.pdf). The RUSH Kart sealed engine is also available at Kart Works (Sugar Grove, Pa). Recently, a RUSH Karting competitor reached out to Series officials after practicing at a local Karting facility with the new RUSH engine package stating that he was extremely impressed with the engine's performance. To date, 14 RUSH Kart sealed engines have been sold.
The Series also features spec Hoosier D30A slick racing tires with no tire treatment permitted, and RUSH 91 spec fuel. The complete 2020 rules are available under the Rules tab on the www.rushkarting.com website.
Drivers should complete their membership form and return to the RUSH Office prior to competing in their first race. Membership forms are available under the Membership tab on the website or directly here www.rushkarting.com/membership.html. Cost of the membership is $75 and includes $25,000 of excess participant accident insurance on the Flat Karts and $100,000 of excess participant accident insurance on the Cage Karts. Note: Insurance coverage does not begin until membership is completed and paid.
"We have to thank these promoters for sticking with us and allowing us to get this program off the ground," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. "Over the years we've started numerous divisions under the RUSH banner and the first year is always the most difficult. I really believe that by season's end we'll have more RUSH Karts competing throughout the region than we did our Crate Late Models in their first season so many years ago! All of our current divisions got their starts with just a handful of cars, at times less than 10, but grew into the exciting divisions that they are today. We're thrilled to be moving forward because of the opportunity our founding tracks have provided to the Series. We're looking forward to growing the RUSH Karts into the future, and we're excited for the new group of racers that will be part of the inaugural class of the Series."
