PITTSFIELD BECOMES FACILITY #6 TO JOIN UNDER THE RUSH KARTING SERIES BANNER FOR 2020

By Mike Leone

December 18, 2019                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pittsfield, PA)...In less than 10 days, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are pleased to welcome on the sixth different facility under the new RUSH Karting Series banner as Pittsfield (PA) Championship Karting Association will host Friday night weekly-sanctioned racing during the inaugural 2020 season.  The 1/8-mile tri-oval dirt track located at the former Pittsfield Elementary School near the intersection of Routes 6 and 27 in northwest Pennsylvania will be an excellent partner with Stateline Speedway Karts, which operates on Saturday mornings just 14 miles away.

In addition to Stateline in Busti, New York, Pittsfield joins the previously announced western Pa. facilities of Blanket Hill Speedway, Lockhart Motorsports Park, Shaffer Speedway, and Slippery Rock Raceway that are sanctioned for 2020.

"It's been an amazing 10 days," expressed Emig.  "To have the initial four tracks come on board immediately, and since that announcement it's been a perfect pairing to add Stateline and Pittsfield with their close proximity and popular facilities.  Pittsfield's promoter Tim Kays was a former racer himself and has stayed closely in tune with the RUSH Late Models and Pro Mods at nearby Stateline Speedway's big track.  The one really neat aspect is that all six track promoters really understand how the RUSH program has worked at the big tracks, and how that very same concept can and will be beneficial to kart racing."

Pittsfield Championship Karting Association is located at 30246 Route 6, Pittsfield, PA 16340.  The 1/8-mile tri-oval dirt track operates on Friday nights with pit gates opening at 5 p.m., warm-ups at 7, and racing at 7:30.  For more information, check out their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/pittsfieldkarting

The RUSH Karting Series technical rules package will feature a RUSH Kart sealed engine (212 cc) that will be available at Precise Racing Products (Sarver, Pa.) and select distributors, spec Hoosier slick racing tires with no tire treatment permitted, and RUSH 91 spec fuel.  The complete 2020 rules package will be released soon.

The four classes for 2020 will include an Amateur/Rookie for five to seven year olds or eight year olds with no experience, a Jr 1 for kids 8-11 years of age, a Jr 2 for kids 12-15 years of age, and an Adult Flat class for those 16 and older.  Speedways have the option of not only choosing which classes to run at their facility, but also if they wish to run each individual children's class as a flat or cage cart; the track's selections will be announced soon.

All classes will compete for separate Weekly Series Championships that will exceed $8,500 in 2020 (note: there will be just one point fund for each of the children's classes whether it's flat or cage for the first year).  The championship programs are expected to exceed $12,000 in 2021 with the addition of the Adult Cage class.

An informational meeting open to the general public will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Smokin' Toad's BBQ at 110 South Pike Road, Sarver, PA 16055, which is located on Route 356 in front of Precise Racing Products.
